As a Mac user, I needed a 3-button mouse for working in 3D applications, and Logitech's optical mouse was perfect. It's very hard to find a mouse with a software-recognized middle button these days, but the Logitech, with the button built into the scroll wheel, seems to work very well, where other similarly-configured mice I tried did not. It's also very economical.
