We replaced my old HP optical wireless mouse with the Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 3000. It was easy to install because all I had to do is remove packaging, install battery and plug in the receiver into the usb port on my computer and it was working within seconds. I noticed right away that is very lightweight and it's fairly small compared to my old mouse. It runs on one AA battery that is included. The instructions say not to use rechargeable batteries in it but I think it should be fine anyway. We used rechargeable batteries in our last mouse for about 5 years without problem.
